About Work

Infinite Orbits, a NewSpace company dedicated to providing in-orbit services for satellite operators globally, approached us with a unique task: to create the logo for their ambitious mission, OrbitGuard. The goal was to design an identity that would be a true reflection of the groundbreaking technology behind the mission.

After successfully collaborating on the Endurance 2022 project, Infinite Orbits trusted us to deliver a brand identity that matched their pioneering spirit in satellite technology and space situational awareness. The challenge lay in visually encapsulating the complexity and technological sophistication of their services while ensuring the design was clean, modern, and distinctive.

Our design approach was to encapsulate the essence of OrbitGuard—a mission focused on providing comprehensive orbital security. This led to the creation of a logo that visually represented their innovative vision and cutting-edge services in a sleek, futuristic design that stands out in a competitive space industry.

Concept

Shaping A Precise Identity

Our goal was to craft a logo that embodied the high-tech, space-centric nature of OrbitGuard. We created a design that balanced modernity and geometry, staying true to the mission’s technical focus while delivering a visually compelling identity. The result was a clean, symmetrical logo with subtle celestial elements.

How we did it:

  • Symmetrical, geometric logo with a modern, futuristic twist.
  • Left side features a wireframe planet symbolising orbit; right side shows deep space and stars.
  • Stars reference the Phoenix constellation, tying into the mission’s theme.
  • Central line divides the celestial spheres, symbolising a rocket’s smoke trail.

This approach allowed us to blend complexity with simplicity, ensuring that the logo remained sophisticated yet easy to recognise at a glance. The strong geometry reflected the precision and reliability of the mission.

Embedding Cosmic Inspiration

To further strengthen the identity, we incorporated the Phoenix constellation into the logo design. This celestial imagery not only reflects the vastness of space but also connects to the core themes of renewal and endurance. The constellation’s visual elements were carefully stylised to fit the logo’s clean and symmetrical structure.

Visual Cues:

  • The Phoenix constellation symbolises rebirth and resilience, perfectly aligned with OrbitGuard's mission.
  • Celestial elements were subtly embedded to create a seamless, futuristic feel.

By referencing the Phoenix constellation, we infused the logo with a deeper, more impactful narrative, establishing a meaningful connection between space exploration, renewal, and innovation. This powerful symbolism emphasises the mission’s long-term vision and future-forward goals.

Modularity

Designing For Adaptability

We developed a patch that extended the modular elements of the logo. Each aspect of the logo was designed with adaptability in mind, ensuring its smooth integration across various forms, from patches to stickers and spacecraft decals. This provided Infinite Orbits with a versatile identity that could be applied consistently across their assets.

Design Principles:

  • Balanced symmetry and modularity for flexible use across media.
  • High contrast and angular shapes emphasise the futuristic feel while maintaining versatility.

The modularity of the design ensured unparalleled flexibility, making the logo easily adaptable across multiple formats, sizes, and applications while maintaining a consistent and cohesive brand identity. This approach allowed OrbitGuard to extend its visual presence effectively across digital platforms, print materials, merchandise, and more, ensuring widespread recognition.

In-Orbit

Showcasing Success In-Orbit

This project culminated in the launch of OrbitGuard’s first mission in collaboration with ViaSat-3. We designed a promotional patch and logo system that integrated seamlessly into this historic mission. Our visual identity supported OrbitGuard’s positioning as a leader in space situational awareness, from design concept to in-orbit action.

Key Outcomes:

  • The mission was a visual and technical success, with the logo prominently featured in the official mission materials.
  • Our work helped OrbitGuard establish a recognisable brand in the NewSpace sector, signalling their entry into the commercial space industry.

As the mission launched, the logo became a core part of OrbitGuard’s identity in orbit. Its placement on mission materials helped establish trust and recognition in the growing field of space situational awareness.
